DoD Boot Camp Applications Sought
Wednesday, December 18, 2013 - 12:12pm
DEFCON and AFGE's Membership and Organizing Department are planning to conduct a DoD Boot Camp in April. This is the Organizing Institute equivalent for DoD locals. Local 1592 at Hill Air Force Base in Utah will be hosting the event.
A firm date has not been set, but we want to start soliciting for applicants now. Anyone interested in attending should submit his or her name, home address, Local number and phone number(s) to Tee Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than March 7, 2014.
The participant's name then will be sent to the respective District NVP for approval for attendance. Those approved will get an opening letter on March 14, 2014 that provides the location and logistical information about the Boot Camp.
Cost for participation in the Boot Camp is split three ways:
- National – covers Lodging
- District - covers Per Diem
- DEFCON – covers travel
If a local covers lost time (use of leave or LWOP), the local is responsible for those costs. This should not be taken that all locals cover lost time.
